If they are firm on the no then you are out of luck .are they open to cheaper alternatives ? I just got my son a 4gig mp4 on Ebay for $27.00 I know it is not an Ipod but it dose everything video, music, voice recording & more. I know it don’t seem fair but nobody ever said life was fair.
They are way too strict and you should tell them that they are hurting your confidence in making a decision.
This amy not seem like a big deal but it could harm your ability to make up your mind in the future.
This is not just about the ipod, they need to let you have a little independence .
Its not like you are buying beer or something illegal.
Tell them that how you spend the $$ really should be your own choice.
My son just lost his and I helped him buy the next one and he just dropped his lap top.. broken.
I am pretty mad at him, but I will end up paying to fix the pc.. he will just end up raking a lot of leaves.
I have a grown daughter so I think I understand that he will be gone soon and I want to try to enjoy the time he is still under my roof.
You might remind them that this is your childhood and it will end eventually and you will remember this and is will not be a good memory.
